Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Let’s connect first with a free 15 min. consultation over the phone so that you can share about your needs & ask any questions. We can determine together if I am the right therapist to help you.

Fill out the contact form & I will get back to you within 48 hours.

I would like to work with you— what happens next?

After our initial communication, I will email you a link to your personal online client portal. This link will give you access to all of my intake forms so that you can complete them online before our first appointment.

If you are coming in as a couple, I will need both of your email addresses to get the process started. Each of you will have your own personal client portal with your own set of forms to fill out. If you did not receive an email with a link to all the documents, please check your spam/junk mail folder or let me know.

**Keep in mind that all new clients must complete the initial intake forms through the client portal at least 24 hours prior to our first session. Appointments without completed paperwork and payment information 24 hours in advance will be canceled.

How long are sessions?

The standard session time for individuals is 50 minutes. With couples and families, an extended session of 60 or 75 minutes is recommended.

How often should I/we come to therapy?

Appointments are usually scheduled weekly.  Therapy sessions can be more frequent if needed as well.  Depending on your progress and your goals, I am open to spacing out the sessions as you start feeling better and seeing transformation in your relationships. This is a decision we can make together.

How long will therapy last?

Everyone’s journey is different and your progress in therapy will depend on the effort you put forth between sessions and the motivation you bring to work towards change.

Some clients like to maintain a therapeutic relationship with me for periodic check-ins or situations that come up when they need extra support after their initial goals have been met.  You will typically know when you have reached a point where you feel you no longer need to come.

What are your session rates?

  • 50 minute Individual Therapy session: $185

  • 60 minute Couple Therapy session: $222

  • 75 minute Family Therapy session: $277.50

Because your appointment times are reserved specifically for you, appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full fee.

I value your time, my time, the important healing work we do together and charge accordingly.

What is the No Surprises Act?

If you are not insured or don’t plan to use your insurance, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.  Click here for more information.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, I do not accept insurance and I am not a provider for any insurance plan. However, if you have insurance that provides coverage for treatment, I can provide a receipt for you to submit a claim for reimbursement at your request.

Please keep in mind that if you choose to utilize your insurance coverage, I may be required to give you a mental health diagnosis that will become part of your health record.  Many clients have preferred to pay out of pocket in order to ensure their privacy.

Where are you located?

I offer telehealth sessions for anyone physically located within the State of California at the time of service.
